Halloween Celebration and Parade

All are welcome to attend the 7th Annual "Fiends" of Brown Street Park Children's Halloween Celebration and Parade. It is occurring on Thursday, October 31 from 4:00pm-5:30pm. Kids can join in on the ghoulish games and creepy crafts while filling up on pizza and healthy snacks. At 5:00pm, join in on a neighborhood parade, as one of our favorite neighborhood bands honks, blasts, and bangs their way along the parade route.

In addition, there will be a free autumn garlic planting workshop, courtesy of Southside Community Land Trust.

This is event is free, and is sponsored by Friends of Brown Street Park, Parks + Recreation, East Side/Mt. Hope YMCA, Crossfit Providence, Whole Foods University Heights, The Wheeler School, The Gordon School, Southside Community Land Trust, and the Providence Athenaeum.

Playful Providence on September 21

"Treasure Island" Performance on August 9

On August 9 at 1:30pm, don't miss the performance of "Treasure Island" given by The ACTSA Ensemble. This is a spirited adventure based on the classic novel by R. L. Stevenson. Young Jim Hawkins takes to the high seas along with Captain Long John Silver and a crew of colorful pirates. Come and join us as we set sail in search of riches! This is an audience participation play best for ages 4-12.

RI Street Workout 2013 - Every Saturday from 12 - 2PM

Street workout is the modern name for bodyweight workouts that are performed either at home or in outdoor parks.

Every Saturday from 12-2 PM a group of individuals interested in improving their physical fitness meets in the park. Some of the most popular exercises they do include pull-ups, chin-ups, push-ups, dips, muscle-ups, sit-ups, crunches, L-sits, handstands, human flag, front and back lever, planche, etc...

RI Street Workout gets together to support each other, learn from each other, and teach anyone interested in improving their physical fitness.
