Please bring your family and friends and join us on Tuesday, August 31st from 5-7 for a Neighborhood Barbecue and Thank You Celebration. At 6:00, we will honor our summer programming partners and the generous businesses, organizations and volunteers who created the Climbing Spider, front entry make-overs and Community Garden.
The early evening event will include free food, music by Superchief Trio, activities for kids, and lots of grateful friends of Brown Street Park.
Sponsored by Friends of Brown Street Park, Whole Foods University Heights, “Celebrate Providence!” Neighborhood Performing Arts Series, Providence Department of Arts Culture and Tourism, and Providence Department of Parks and Recreation.
Friends of Brown Street Park’s mission is to create a sustainable space that fosters a sense of community, supported by our core values: sustainability, arts and health programming for all ages, and open space and natural play.

Superchief Trio Concert, Tuesday, August 31, 5-7pm!
Superchief Trio, originally scheduled to play on July 14, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, August 31 from 5-7pm. Mark it on down!
Superchief features a unique combination of two-fisted piano, red hot trombone, powerful vocals and frenzied percussion antics, all rolled up into one small package. Swing, New Orleans R&B, jump blues, boogie-woogie - it's all in there.
And with
a repertoire of tasy original tunes and carefully selected covers by
Professor Longhair, Huey Smith, Smiley Lewis, Wee Willie Wayne and a
raft of others, this group is the ultimate dance-party band.
