Annual Earth Day Spring Cleaning

Join us on Saturday, April 26 from 9:00am-12:00pm for our annual Earth Day Spring Cleaning! Roll up your sleeves to help us get the park ready for Spring! 

Sample activities will be planting, mulching, and the general sprucing up of our landscape. If you have them, please bring gardening gloves, rakes, and other gardening tools. 

Lunch will be provided at 12:00pm, as a thank you to our volunteers! We look forward to seeing you there!

Halloween Celebration and Parade

All are welcome to attend the 7th Annual "Fiends" of Brown Street Park Children's Halloween Celebration and Parade. It is occurring on Thursday, October 31 from 4:00pm-5:30pm. Kids can join in on the ghoulish games and creepy crafts while filling up on pizza and healthy snacks. At 5:00pm, join in on a neighborhood parade, as one of our favorite neighborhood bands honks, blasts, and bangs their way along the parade route.

In addition, there will be a free autumn garlic planting workshop, courtesy of Southside Community Land Trust.

This is event is free, and is sponsored by Friends of Brown Street Park, Parks + Recreation, East Side/Mt. Hope YMCA, Crossfit Providence, Whole Foods University Heights, The Wheeler School, The Gordon School, Southside Community Land Trust, and the Providence Athenaeum.

Playful Providence on September 21

Join us on Saturday, September 21 from 11:00am-2:00pm for our Playful Providence events! We will have a children's obstacle course brought to us by Rhode Island Parkour and Rhode Island Street Gym plus a mural creation. For an entire list of Playful Providence activities, visit here.

Join us from 5:30pm-7:30pm on August 21 to enjoy the Superchief Trio. The band features a unique combination of two-fisted piano, red hot trombone, blazing guitar, rock solid bass, powerful vocals and frenzied percussion antics.  In addition, be sure to grab a delicious dinner from the RISD food truck, “Rosie”.  The tacos are amazing. The “Celebrate Providence!” Neighborhood Performing Arts Series is sponsored by the City of Providence, Mayor Angel Taveras, the Department of Art, Culture + Tourism, the Department of Parks & Recreation, and the Partnership for Providence Parks. New Location! Today's 1:30pm "Treasure Island" Performance

NEW LOCATION! Due to rain, today's 1:30pm performance of Treasure Island by the ACTSA Ensemble will now take place at the East Side / Mt. Hope YMCA located at 458 Hope Street. We hope to see you there!! Thank you, YMCA, for your support!!

"Treasure Island" Performance on August 9

On August 9 at 1:30pm, don't miss the performance of "Treasure Island" given by The ACTSA Ensemble. This is a spirited adventure based on the classic novel by R. L. Stevenson. Young Jim Hawkins takes to the high seas along with Captain Long John Silver and a crew of colorful pirates. Come and join us as we set sail in search of riches! This is an audience participation play best for ages 4-12.
