Subject: Natural Play Spaces at Brown Street Park

Wendy,

I was on the website today and notice the blog about natural play spaces for children. it reminded me of an article I read in the Arbor Day foundations newsletter about natural play spaces for children. I will scan it and send ti to you but in the mean time, here is their website-

http://www.arborday.org/explore/

I am sending this to you because I am thrilled with all of the work you have done at BSP. Although my kids and I don't get there often we always have a great time when we are there. In light of redesigning the older and younger children's play spaces, I thought this article and the Arbor Day's information about natural play spaces might be interesting and helpful.

Further, the article talks about creating a "natural" stage area for
children to perform on. I am finishing my teaching degree this Fall when I do my student teaching. I have a background in theatre and once I figure out how much time I will have post school, I would be interested in at least helping to organize such a stage/natural play area, if not teach theatre for neighborhood children there as well. Does this sound at all like a venture you think might be possible at BSP?

Sincerely,

Miriam G.
